I am a junior at The George Washington University receiving a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Architecture & Design through the Corcoran School of Art & Design. I have taken multiple studios, graphic communications, digital drafting and sketching classes. This, along with my previous work experience, has given me a deep understanding of design concepts.
Last summer, I was able to utilize my skills professionally working for William Rodgers Architects in New York City, where I gained experience in residential and commercial design. Through this internship, I was able to improve my communication skills while working closely with clients. Daily responsibilities included, listening to clients, while identifying their needs and managing expectations, and creating mood boards with furniture and appliance lists aligned to their preferences. In partnership with the lead architect, I worked to create new designs for bathroom, kitchen and exterior house renovations. My proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite was expected to render interiors and effectively communicate a realistic 3D image that allowed clients to provide feedback and confirm plans. Lastly, I was responsible for designing construction documents for approval and filing with the building department in NYC.
I currently hold a student manager position for the Women’s Basketball team. My experiences as a student manager allow me to identify the needs of the coaches and players and implement solutions quickly. As the coaches and players focus on practice and games, I execute the organizational tasks, such as arranging meals for the team, managing equipment, assisting with any type of administrative work, including, travelling with the team to away games, and corresponding with hotel personnel, bus drivers, and managers of opposing teams.
The majority of my work has revolved around applying creative solutions to the user experience and products.
